It has been reported that armed men onboard two speed boats attacked a passenger boat in the Ogbia – Brass waterways, Bayelsa State. The report states that during the attack three persons were kidnapped.

A report has been received stating that armed men attacked a passenger boat near the AGIP Obama flow station killing two people. The attackers fled having stolen passenger’s valuables.

Vessels within a 100 nautical mile radius should increase their anti-piracy deterrents in line with Best Management Practices 4. This should include increased twenty four hour anti-piracy watch keeping and radar monitoring. Vessel hardening should be checked and where appropriate bolstered.
