MOGADISHU, Somalia- Al Shabaab assassins have shot and killed a senior Somali Intelligence official serving with National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in Mogadishu on Friday night, Garowe Online reports.

The officer who was identified as Mohamed Omar was killed when after leaving mosque en-route to his residence in Waberi district. Reports said that two men armed with pistols have shot dead the official, according to witness.

The killers have managed to escape from the scene immediately before the arrival of Somali security forces who later carried out investigation to find out culprits behind the killing.
